It definitely has a very hot sweet spot, if you can find it. Shots generally stayed on line and went straight, so I can't complain about that.
These are extraordinarily easy to hit and amazingly forgiving. The topline, offset, toe all work together to give me a strong feeling of forgiveness and confidence. The ball just takes off. I was getting about 10 yards extra in total distance. Loose swings were still going about what I'd expect. .
Well-hit shots felt soft and easy to control. Forgiving clubs that gave real sensory feedback to your hands if you hit it off the toe or heel. It didn't punish you on distance, though.
Consistency was the name of the game with this club. Toe shots still produced a high, straight ball flight. I could get around the course with these clubs knowing that even my mis-hits would find the green.
The look is great. The topline is a bit longer behind the ball, so it sits a little lower. But, overall, the look, sound and feel combine to make this a great hitting iron. The 5-iron delivered a ball that held its shape in the air, landed on a very consistent descent angle, and outperformed my normal distances.
The ball is hot off the face, even on off-center hits. The club moves through the ground very well with a clip. It does not dig, so that promotes a a really nice ball flight. Distance is excellent compared to other irons in this category.
It gives you some quality feedback. If you don't hit it in the sweet spot, you definitely feel and hear it. However, the better you hit it, the quieter it is. It's got some good pop off the face, and really good distance. A very effective set of irons.
I was hitting little baby draws with every club in the set with a nice trajectory. Everything was launching through the right window. Very forgiving of my bad swings and supporting and helping of my good swings.
I love the feel of these clubs. It's almost as if the ball sits on the the face for a microsecond, says "hi," and then jumps off the face. The feeling off the face is just incredible. Easy club to hit across the board.
The greatest thing about it is its consistency. This model has a little bit smaller face, but was incredibly consistent on both center and off-center hits. It is a bit firmer and more loud than some others, though.
Consistent size progression throughout the set. It's a really good looking set of irons. I had to go down after the ball to find the sweet spot, but that was met with a really crisp feel and superb ball flight.
It has a softer kind of sound and feel to it at impact, but the ball really jumps off. The ball flight started out a little high, but didn't sacrifice any distance. This was very consistent regardless of where I was hitting it on the clubface. Dispersion was all in a very tight square.
Sound is high-pitched, but soft on the hands. When struck really well, you get a lot of distance and height, but occasionally at the cost of keeping the ball on line.
Moderate weight, good turf interaction and lower launch. It has just enough distance to get to the green, and enough forgiveness to mask some swing flaws.
It looked good behind the ball, but lacked in performance. It did not have a ton of energy off the face relative to the strike, and the ball speed was low. I didn't feel like I was getting into the turf very well, either, probably due to the lighter head.
Really clean look—shiny, polished. Looks durable, too. The ball jumps off the face on a high trajectory, with a piercing, explosive feel to it.
The turf interaction through the ball was great. It was really smooth and easy. You could just feel the explosiveness off the face. The impact sound was rewarding as well. Launch was a bit on the higher side, but it was satisfying.
It didn't feel like this club was improving my game at all because of how much work I had to put in to find the sweet spot. The forgiveness level is down a notch from what I need.
I like the technology on the backside showing through. It has a really deep undercut cavity. Unfortunately for me, the technology just didn't deliver. I couldn't overcome what I thought was a lower trajectory shot. It wasn't launching the ball high like I wanted, and I didn't get much pop off the face. It felt a little too sticky and stiff.
I found this club maddeningly inconsistent. It didn't produce the same strike often, and mis-hits would produce different results in terms of forgiveness. So it's hard to draw any conclusions. Direct hits were rewarded, as they should be.
Reliable, consistent club. Not the longest, but very straight down the line, and high. It was on the louder side at impact, but that wasn't so noticeable because of how easy it was to repeat the same ball flight again and again.
I really like that the number is stamped on the face so that you don't pull the wrong club. Very forgiving across the face. When you hit the center, the performance is very good.
The offset is not that noticeable, but they're a little too thick for my taste. However, when you hit them, wow, they're just so easy to hit. You don't have to put a lot of effort into your swings. The ball just goes.
In terms of the design, they look like a players iron. So, very small and intimidating. The distance and direction were all over the place unless I hit the ball in the sweet spot. Even then, it wasn't very soft and had a very loud smacking sound on impact.
